Welcome to Awesome Tours
Southern Pride, Pure Adventure

Awesome Tours takes you to those special places that you’ve always wanted to visit.
Based in New Zealand’s stunning South Island, Awesome Tours introduces you to those out-of-the-way places the locals love and that large coach tours seldom reach.
You can choose one of the many small-group package tours or one of the daily scheduled tours. Even design your own tour, incorporating your list of “must see” places, within your budget and timeframes.
Either way, your driver/guide takes care of everything, so you can relax and make the most of your time in New Zealand.

About Us

Awesome Tours believes travel is about “experiencing” new destinations, rather than simply “passing through”.
Established in 2006 by driver and guide Mark Dixon, Awesome Tours is 100% New Zealand owned and operated. During the past 11 years, the Dunedin-based company has guided more than 7000 visitors around Otago and New Zealand’s South Island.

Daily Wildlife eco-tours – Land or Sea

Let Awesome Tours help you experience Natures Wonders on one of their daily small group Wildlife Tours. The beautiful Otago Peninsula provides the scenery, but it’s the wildlife that steals the show. Rugged coastline and windswept cliffs harbour New Zealand Fur Seals, Hookers Sea Lion (among the world’s rarest), Blue Penguin (arguably the world’s cutest), the majestic Royal Albatross (world’s largest wingspan) and the Yellow-Eyed Penguin (the world’s rarest). Choose from one of these tour options: The Wildlife tour with Argo off road upgrade or the Wildlife Cruise, or the Albatross Colony, add in the Sheep Shed experience or talk to us about any combination of these tour options.

Things to see and do in Dunedin

The guided Dunedin Day Tours are ideal for small groups on a tight time schedule. They are effectively a half-day or day-long, tailor-made tour – with you choosing your day’s activities from the list below. Generally, four people are required for the tour to be economic, although we can cater for fewer people on a charter price.
