The journey to the Larnach Castle is as stunning as the destination.

A 2 ½ – hour return trip tour, travelling the Otago Peninsula via the high road for the most picturesque scenery towards the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Otago harbour with Dunedin City on the other. Larnach Castle – New Zealand’s only castle. Views from the top of the tower are spectacular and the beautiful gardens complete this enjoyable award-winning experience.

All transport to and from the Octagon (or central city accommodation, if organised prior to tour)
20 min guided tour of the Castle’s main floor and then free time to explore the rest of the castle and the award-winning Gardens.

Daily tour details

This tour operates in all weather.

Duration: 2 ½ hrs return
Departure time: 2pm (returning at 4.30pm) or by arrangement.
Departure point: Dunedin i-Site, 50 The Octagon, or central city accommodation

Group size:
2 – 6 passengers (in minivan)
6 -19 passengers (in midsize bus)

We have a free pick-up and drop-off service from central city accommodation. Let us know early so we can arrange it. (Please allow an additional 15-20 minutes.)

Your transport for the tour

You will enjoy the comfort and safety of:

vehicles that exceed all New Zealand Land Transport requirements.

All drivers/guides are experienced and qualified drivers with First Aid training.

Important: If you are travelling with an infant

Seatbelts are a legal requirement for all passengers travelling in New Zealand, and infants must be in a suitable car seat.

When you book, please contact mark@awesometours.co.nz with the infant’s age, and he will arrange for a car seat.

This tour operates in all weather. It is an outdoor activity in a land where the weather can change rapidly, regardless of the time of year.
